October 2012 has been a month of unrelated agendas. It started with the NHC Art Party for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and all of the press events around that. What a wonderful experience to work with the staff of NHC in Bluffton. They really know how to put on a great party! Here are 3 of several paintings that sold at the show. I was able to contribute over $500 to the Alzheimer’s Association, and have some new collectors!
During prep for the Art Party, my house sold with a move out and closing requested by end of the month. So I was hiring movers, arranging for a condo in California, getting my car shipped, and all those other things that aren’t part of a daily routine.
Today I’m at my daughter’s. My car has arrived. My furniture comes Friday and I’m finally able to concentrate on communicating with you.
I’m back in L.A. forever! I’m enjoying the beach, my family, and all the walking I missed in humid, buggy South Carolina. Since arriving in Manhattan Beach I’ve walked 5 miles, eaten amazing and interesting vegetarian food and hugged my grandsons a million times.
We’ve played ball and analyzed the Fibonacci Sequence in art and nature. I’ve been a willing audience for my 13 year old grandsons’s skateboarding tricks and amazing drumming, guitar and keyboard entertainment. I’ve been enthralled with the building of complete communities by my youngest grandson using a computer program called MineCraft. One happy Grammy, here.
By Friday I should be moving into my condo in Laguna Woods and setting up the art studio. The studio was built in Bluffton but is portable and ready for installation here. The light is SO different. I’m interested to see what I create next and what inspires me. I feel lighter here. And I’m very happy to be back where I started from.
I’ll keep you posted as new experiences inspire my creations.
I am delighted you are enjoying California. As a fellow artist, I know
that you continue on with your great art. It will be interesting to
see what you attempt next, as you always keep me guessing.
Susie, so happy you are now where you are happiest….and near family. Sending you good wishes and hoping you find the arts community there more attuned to your creativity and energy. Also congrats on your success at the Alzheimers fundraiser.Business is beginning to pick up here at ArtLofts and BAA, so I am still loving being in beautiful Beaufort!
